Many harmless skin lesions are no longer deemed appropriate to be removed on the NHS due to funding restrictions. This service was set up by Dr Shankland for those patients who still wish to have their skin blemishes removed, at an affordable price.
The Minor Surgery Service is for harmless (benign) skin lesions only; particularly skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses (crusty warts), cherry spots (angiomas) and other minor skin blemishes.
It is not suitable for removal of cysts, lipomas, flat moles or suspicious lesions or when after assessment the diagnosis is uncertain.
Dermatology Consultations are also available for other skin conditions including acne, eczema (both children and adults), rosacea, viral warts or a general skin check. Dr Shankland is happy to talk through different treatment options and prescribe if appropriate.
